Stampendous! and Clear scraps Blog Hop!

BOO!!  Are you ready for today's fun Hop?  The Stampendous and Clear Scraps teams have had a blast this week combining products and today is the last day of our collaboration.  If you arrived here from my good friend Taylor's blog then keep on reading! If not, why not start back at the Stampendous! Impressions blog at the beginning?!

So do you notice anything NEW on my album?  Hehe. We get to start sneaking peeks this week of the brand new July CHA release from Stampendous!  These have to be my totally most favorite new stamps ever!!  I started with Bat Girl for my cover image.  She's one of my new favs from the Kiddos line and you will soooo not be disappointed with the rest of the new ones!!  (These are not yet on the web page but you should start seeing them in a couple weeks in your local store!!)

I adhered her over a gray panel stamped with Castle Gate background stamp.  I stamped the image in Versafine Onyx (Tsukineko) and then let that dry just a sec while I added some Versamark over the torn edges, then added Aged Black Embossing Enamel to the edges.  I then quickly poured a bit of Detail Black EP over the gate image so that when the Versafine was partially dry the EP only stuck to some parts of the image.

I then added some Tombo Wet adhesive to the ground around her feet and then sprinkled on some NEW Trick or Treat Color Fragments (and YES! they are already mixed like that!!)

For my title I embossed chipboard letters with Versamark ink and Aged Black EE.  All the papers for this album are from the brand-spankin new Halloween line from Graphic 45.

Here's a peek at edges of the rest of the pages of my album.  I thought since I'm sneaking images I would share different pages with you over the course of the next couple of weeks as I complete them, and ya know, Halloween is my favorite!  (And I only laid down the bases of the rest of the pages so far!  Shhh!)

The Sassy Mixed Album from Clear Scraps is 3 acrylic pages and 2 chipboard pages.  I covered my 2 chipboard pages with paper using Mod Podge.  For the acrylic I played around mainly with Gesso, Dylusions ink sprays, my copic Airbrush system, and Dreamweaver Stencils.

If you notice on the edge of the first page you can see that it started clear.  I masked the back of the page with a clear stencil and then sprayed purple Dylusions spray over it.  I let the front side blank so it was a bit more transparent.  I then added some Black Dot Sparklers Class-a-peel stickers around the scallops.  Below is yet another view of the page overlaps and edges and Fran'taging!

OK! So I had fun, can you tell??  My hands and table definitely show the extent of my fun!  So from here hop over to the uber talented Kristine to see what she's cooked up for you!

Don't forget to leave comments along the way for  chance to win a prize pack!!

I chose Watermelon Cocoa for today's challenge because what's better than watermelon for a 4th of July cookout? Well, burgers of course, but I can eat watermelon everyday!  And Cocoa is so adorable peeking out behind her slice.

Here's  better look at Cocoa, colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I also added some black glitter to the seeds and some clear glaze to her nose.  My papers are from the Block Party collection by Bo Bunny.  Star border die from MFT.

I printed a sentiment on my computer cause I didn't have anything quite right. KWIM?

My layout for today's card uses this weeks Split Coast Stampers sketch.

Dreamweavery Glitter

&
Sadly its our last week of the Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter collaboration, but that means you still have one more week to play along with our Double Glitter and/or Wedding Challenge at Dreamweaver Stencils!

I am so happy with the way my card turned out today...I finally feel like my mojo has come home!  It may have been the color inspiration from this My Minds Eye Indie Chic Ginger paper pad.  That led me to pull out the gray-ish glitter and dark orange from the Court Jester Pee Wee Kit.  I also used two of the paler colors from the Glitter Garden kit for the 2nd step of my Dbl Glitter (the backgrounds of the Bird Cage and bird).  My bird is actually cut out from the larger Love Birds stencil

Here's a closer look at all the yummy glitter:

I used Karen G's sketch for my layout today.  The delicate border is Tiffany border die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

Visit the Art Glitter blog and the Dream It Up! blog for fabulous inspiration from both talented design teams. We are encouraging all of you to play along with the challenge of creating withDreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter*, preferably using the Double-Glitter Technique with a wedding theme. Just link your creation to the Mr. Linky on the Dream It Up! blog, or email pics to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for an opportunity to win one of four fabulous glitter and stencil prize packages. One winner will be chosen each week. (US and Canada only, please).

Wine of Friendship

Its my turn to post on the  Spectrum Noir website today!  Be sure to head over and check out all the new tutorials you will find on the blog including mine HERE on skin and hair.

For this card I used the adorable SWALK image called Wine of Friendship, available at Crafter's Companion.  I tried to carry out the theme of the outdoor cafe using papers from What's Up by Basic Grey.  The yummy ribbon is by May Arts.

Here's a closer shot at the mom and daughter.  For a full tutorial on how I colored the skin and hair read THIS POST over at the Spectrum Noir Blog.

Here's the colors I used for my image:

Thanks for popping in today!

Ritas anyone??

Its time for sketch #134 at Skipping Stones Design and this week we are featuring the set Margarita Birthday!  Here's the sketch if you want to play along with us!

For mine I was in a Patriotic mood so I pulled out some Red white and Blue paper from LYB and took my colors from that.  I colored my Rita to be a Raspberry Rita...my favorite!!

I added some Crystal Multi Mix Glitter to the rim to look like salt (or in my case I like sugar on my rims!)

And here's a pic of this yummy set:

Stampendous and Clear Scraps Week!

Are you ready for a week of clear sparkly fun from Stampendous! and Clear Scraps this week?  I have always loved my Clear Scraps albums and pieces but sometimes forget to use them so I was mega excited about this collaboration!

You'll see projects from both teams all this week ending with a Blog Hop this Saturday so don't miss out!!  I was sent a couple of things in the mail from Clear Scraps including the card that I used fo today's project.  The cards are called "Send It Clear" and I received the Belgrave version.

We Stampendous! girls were also gifted with some fun inks from Tsukineko and mine happened to be blues so I went with a winter theme.

Below is the inside of the card....its a gate fold card with three clear pieces that are held together with super-invisible clear stickers.  I made mine open top and bottom instead of side to side to accomodate the Joy Sparkle stamp.  Joy was stamped in Hydrangea Blue Staz On ink onto some Martha Stewart Winter Wonderland paper that I got from Michael's.    I then sprayed that piece with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer spritz.   I also distressed the edges with the Hydrangea Blue ink then added some Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel to two of the corners using Versamark ink.

Lastly I added some Multi Crystal UF glitter with Glossy Acccents.  I cut this piece slightly smaller than the clear piece and adhered it to the front of that piece with Beacon Fabri-Tac adhesive.  I cut another piece of MS paper the same size as the clear piece and stamped it in Hydrangea Bue ink using the two small snowflakes from Yule Penguins Perfectly Clear set.

The next photo is of the bottom gate closed and the top open so its easier to see whats on what layer :)  On the 2 front gate pieces I stamped the asterisk (snow) border from Jumbo Joy Sparkle set in Baby Blue Staz On Opaque ink directly on the clear plastic.

To each of the gates I also adhered a small strip of the darker blue paper that was Fran'taged on the edges with more Shabby Blue EE and inked with more Hydrangea Blue ink.

Here's a closeup of the BG piece as well as the Embossed corners and the glitter on the snowflakes.

And lastly this shot is of my ribbon treatment.  I tied some Sheer light blue ribbon by May Arts and some sparkly silver ribbon from Michaels to a clear button using White embroidery floss then glue dotted this on a snowflake.  The Snowflake started as a White Velvet Class-a-Peel Sticker by Stampendous!  I inked it with Sky Blue Versacolor ink then embossed it with Clear embossing Powder.

Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day Challenge

Some Odd Girl is having a Facebook Fun Day today and I just happened by this morning after it pulled up in my newsfeed so I thought I would play along with at least one of the challenges!  The first challenge of the day is to create your own embellishments (using one of the ideas from a video tutorial found at the SOG blog)

I used Beach Mae for my card today.  I've also colored her in some bright colors, which I'll share another day, but I thought she would be fun in the pink and brown tones I pulled from the Lost and Found Blush Collection by My Mind's Eye.  She was colored with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to match the papers.  Here's a closer peek at her.  I just love the big wide eyes on Kristi's stamps!

I chose to make my own flowers following the tutorial.  (See link above)  I also included part of another DIY challenge by misting them first.  For each flower I started with a square of ME paper that I misted with Biscotti Perfect Pearls and dried.  I then cut it into a circular shape then cut into the center in a spiral cut.  The flower is then rolled up and I used Beacon Fabri-Tac adhesive to hold it together.  The gems n the center are also from MME.

I also misted my BG paper, first using a Glimmer Mist stencil and Melted Chocolate Dylusions ink spray.  I then sprayed the whole thing with Biscotti Perfect Pearls mist and heated it.

My pink panel and Mae are both popped up using Crafty Foam Tape from 3L so here's a side view to help you see the dimension!  My ribbon is from May ARts, and I added Stampendous! Multi Crystal UF glitter to Mae's bathing suit and shoes with a Quickie glue pen by sakura.

Be sure to hop over to the Some Odd Girl FB fun day page and join the fun today!  There's also a link to share for a chance to win the next digi collection!

Summer Fun with Stampendous!

Ride the wave this month during our Summer Challenge at Stampendous!  You still have one more week to enter!  This week I thought I'd share a card that I thought for sure I had blogged about but never did!  This little card was featured on the (back) cover of the April Stampendous! catalog :)

It's a center step card created with Surfer Changito and Simple Pleasures stamps.  I've always loved Changito, but I mean how cute is he all ready to catch a wave?

I did a nice simple layout on the center part to show off Changito and the perfectly matching sentiment. Papers are from Little Yellow Bicycle, brads by Basic Grey, and twine from The Twinery.

Don’t forget, we want YOU to play along with us!  Simply make a summer themed project of some sort and add the direct link for your project to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than Thursday, June 28 at 11:59 PM EST .  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  As an extra incentive for playing along, one lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this fabulous new Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear stamp set:

As an even bigger incentive, if you use Stampendous products on your project, that entry will count twice, which increases your chances of winning!  Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you can enter as many times as you’d like!) this month…Happy Crafting!

Challenge List:
Paper Shelter: The Great Outdoors
Fresh Brewed: Red, Teal, and Yellow
Forever Friends: anything Goes with Animal
Going Grey: vacation

Spectrum Noir Blog Hop!

Welcome to the First Spectrum Noir blog hop – Yellow The Color of Summer!

If you have landed here from Suzanne's Blog then you are hopping in the right direction. If not, you will need to pop over to SpectrumNoir Blog to begin.

I have 2 cards to share with you today because I couldn't decide on just one!  My first up uses Summer Merkid digi stamp by Simply B Stamps.  When I found this lemonade paper from Little Yellow Bicycle in my stash I just knew this would be a perfect yellow card!  I kept my yellows very bright to contrast with the turquoise in the paper by using GB4, CT4, and CT2.  Yellow is never my go to color, but I do love it with another bright color!  And I will say that the SN yellows blend absolutely beautifully!  There are also so many yellow families that the blending options are endless!

I added some Glossy accents to the ice cubes (which were colored with the lightest colors of this family: CT2 and CT1) and her sunglasses.

Here's the colors I used for the image:

I also colored up this adorable little Rhubarb the Honey Bee digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I started with my yellows and blacks (I used brown grays) for his Bee costume then instead of making him really brown, I furthered the yellow challenge using Golden Browns for his fur!

Here he is a bit closer.  Look how beautifully those colors blend!  I have been so lucky to have been picked to be on this fabulous team with these talented colorerers! (my new word)

Here's the colors used on Rhubarb:
