Here's a closeup shot of how pretty and blingy this technique looks!  My background paper is from the Basic Grey Kissing Booth line.

To finish the card I added the sentiment using the Happy Mother's Day stencil and the same technique as above.  This was then popped up over some satin PTI ribbon.

Plume Portrait

Its a beautiful day here in NC and the signs of spring are everywhere!  I am finally feeling almost back to normal after the flu has left my house (I hope!).  This morning I have a bit of a romantic card for you featuring this Victorian beauty called "Plume Portrait" from Stampendous!  This stamp is being featured on the Paper Crafts Magazine page today so you will see samples of her popping up all over the Stampendous! DT blogs.

For my card I started out by stamping Plume Portrait in Vintage Sepia ink (Tsukineko) onto white cardstock.  I then spritzed a bit of Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and trimmed her.  This panel was mounted onto a burgundy piece of cardstock that I Fran'taged with Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel and Bronze Crushed Glass Glitter.

My background medium pink cardstock I stamped with Peacock Points in Versamark ink and embossed with more of the Shabby Pink.  Over the top of that I stamped Flying Machines in Vintage Sepia.  More shabby pink was added to one corner.

I added the pink background to my burgundy base (after adding mats of course) and then added a piece of White crochet ribbon from May Arts and a flower from Prima that I spritzed with Starfish and Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO WIN the Cling Plume Portrait stamp? Paper Crafts Magazine is giving away this stamp on their Facebook Page today. You can find Paper Crafts Magazine Facebook page here. Find the PC Magazine post offering Plume Portrait, comment on that post and for your chance to win.

Stampendous is also giving away FREE stamps!! Jump over to the Stampendous Blog and leave a comment there for more chances to win!!!

Dreamweaver Stencils March Challenge

Its Thursday and time for another Dreamweaver Stencils Challenge! Well, actually we are still doing Spring Clean and Simple all month, but you can play if you haven't yet or play again if you already have!

I started with Art Nouveau Flourish stenciled with Black Matte Paste on my background and then added a small thank you in the same paste after the flourish was dry.

I then dry embossed the Blossom stencil onto a piece of Red Aluminum, cut it out then added copic black to the dots on the flower.

Pretty CAS for me, thats for sure!  I hope you'll join us this month! Be sure to head to the Dreamweaver Stencil blog to enter you creation and to get the deets on the challenge.  I'm feeling challenged by a cold right now, so I'll be short winded!  And don't forget to hop over to the rest of the DT's blogs:

OK, I love bright colors and have plenty of monkeys thanks to Changito, but sadly the crud is moving to me now.  Kid 3/4 also has it.  So I don't feel like stamping :(  Luckily I had this CAS Changito card that I still haven't posted from the October 2011 Stampendous! catalog.  He fits monkey, orange (flowers), and grass. Whew!

I used Changito Daydreamer for my monkey, colored with copic markers.  Papers are from American Crafts and ribbon is from May Arts.  Sorry I'm not typing much today, but I must rest.

Simply Challenged #3

Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, the Amazing Chocolatier...

Its time for our monthly challenge at Simply B Stamps and this month we want to see celebrations!  Any kind, any way.  I thought Willy would be cute for a birthday wish so I colored him up in some fun bright colors...my favorites...then pulled some cardstock to match.  Willy Wonka can be found HERE in the Simply B stamps store, he's part of the Burton Chibis 1 series, and don't forget we just released the Burton Chibis 2 last week while you're there!

I added lots of sparkle to him, cause Johnny Depp just needs some glitter, don't you think?   I used Crystal Multi UF glitter from Stampendous! with a Quickie glue pen.  I also added some Glaze to the insides of the glasses with a Sakura clear  Glaze pen.

My sentiments are both from a Hero ARts cupcake set from my stash, sorry its old and I don't have the name of it anymore.

I embossed the orange panel with a cuttlebug birthday words folder and added a sticker strip to the side made by KI Memories...from Love, Elsie, another oldie but goodie from my stash.

I hope you'll play with us this month!  Head over to the SBS blog to see more eye candy and to link up your creation so we can all see it!

Simply B Stamps: celebrations (DT)
Paper Cupcakes: childrens birthday
Ladybug Crafts Ink: anything goes
The Paper Variety: Tica Tac Toe (emboss, card, diecut)

Tiptoe through the Tulips & an announcement!

I woke this morning to a much warmer day and lots of birds chirping...is spring really here when we never had much of a winter in NC?  Hmm...

FIRST, I have news to share!  Did you notice the new blinkie in my sidebar?? I am now on the Spectrum Noir first ever Design Team!  How Exciting!! The website isn't up yet, so stay tuned for more info!  Here's the rest of our uber talented DT so far:

Cyndi Bundy (me!!)
Danielle Johnson
Jennie Lin Black
Kristine Reynolds
Mary Johnson
Taylor Usry

So I thought I would share a very springy card this morning that I created for my Stampendous! Spring card class (this Saturday at Enchanted Cottage if you are local!)  I used Tiptoe Fluffles, one of my all-time favorite Fluffles stamps, but then again are there any Fluffles I don't like?  Nope!

I colored my sweet fat kitty to match this fun spring paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug.  The mats were cut with Spellbinders' Wonky Squares.  I even hand cut the top of the butterfly panel to mimic the top of the square.

How adorable is he??!  And here's the bottom of the easel card, which is what makes it stand up.  The sentiment is also by Stampendous! from the Narcissus Perfectly Clear set.

And last, a little peek at one of the butterflies that I cut with my QuicKutz for Lifestyle Crafts Tag It Kit.

Here's the colors I used from an inspiration photo at The Pink Elephant Challenge blog:

Globecraft Memories meets Dreamweaver Stencils

Happy Monday!  (I know, there's nothing really happy about a Monday)  I had fun yesterday playing with one of my Globecraft Memories frames and some metal!  If you remember I spent most of my time at CHA at the GCM booth and came home with quite a few naked kits to play with!

For todays project I wanted to emboss on some copper sheets to show the versatility of these wonderful frames.  I started with LX7701 Lg Damask Stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils and large piece of copper metal.  (Lynell carries some lovely metal sheets from Merc Art but none of the sheets were quite large enough to do 3 ovals, so I used a pack from my stash.

Gather your stencil, metal, and embossing tools.  I used my Epic machine, the embossing platform, and 2 thin embossing mats.  Here's what the copper pieces look like when they first come out of the machine before you do anything to them.

This is a pic of what the Classic Traditional Oval Bubble Frame kit looks like out of the package.

It had 3 frames that I needed to cover with the copper, so I turned them to the back and traced ont the copper with a sharpie.

Next, I applied Paprika Red, Gold Star, and Winter Red Alcohol Solutions ink from Dreamweaver Stencils using a felt applicator tool and just smeared the ink around.  I then sanded over the top of the embossed parts so the copper would stand out against the dark red.

Here's a closeup of the alcohol inked portion of the finished project.  (After the metal was adhered to each chipboard piece I finished the edges on all the frames before assembling by sanding gently, then reapplying more of the Winter Red alcohol ink to the edges of the metal and the chipboard.)

After all the pieces are embossed, cut, and inked I assembled the layers using Black Foam squares from 3L Scrapbook Adhesives between the layers.  I also had to attach my easel base for the frame...here's what that looks like unfolded...

A small portion at the bottom was going to show so I embossed that with Versamark ink and Aged Copper Embossing Enamel from Stampendous!

After I added the easel I added some embellishments to the front of the frame.  The Pine Tree is actually the top portion of a swag of yummy glittery floral wire that I got at Michael's last year.

I added a sentiment tag using "Season's Greetings" from Stampendous! embossed with Clear Detail powder and Versafine Onyx Black ink by Tsukineko.  This was then punched with my EK Success dog tag punch. I added some Copper wire from May Arts and glued the 3 pieces to the frame with NEW DODZ glue dots from 3L Scrapbook Adhesives.

I also added a sheer brown bow made with May Arts ribbon to the top of the frame.

Here's what the side view looks like when its complete:

I hope you enjoyed my project today! For videos on hw to put these frames together check out THIS LINK.  Thanks fr stopping by!  -Cyndi

Scrapbook Sunday

Good Morning!  Its a bit early for me since the time change, but I'm awake so I might as well be functioning, right?  I thought I'd get back to my Sunday Scrapbook days, at least on my non-sketch challenge Sundays.  So today I am showing you one of the layouts that I created for the January Stampendous! CHA release and catalog.

My picture is of Taylor and her friend Blake from Prom last year.  Theres a joke that any photos of couples submitted to Stampendous! will result in a break-up of said couple, but since they were never dating I'm safe!  I thought that the new Jumbo Hollyhock would be a great accompaniment to this lovely spring photo so I added them in full force.

I stamped the Hollyhock image 4 times on Neenah Solar white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  These were all colored with Copic RV0000, RV00, RV19, RV09, YG61, YG63, YG67, and Y21.  I carefully cut out all the flowers and set them aside.

Next I took a large Technique Tuesday matboard frame and covered it with Versamark ink and then new Shabby Green Embossing Enamel.

HINT: You have to be a bit careful when heating the thicker enamels on chipboard since you can't heat from underneath because some of the powder will blow away.  The best solution is to "sneak up" on the chipboard when the heat gun is really hot then continue to heat that area.

Place a burgundy cardstock mat behind the frame, trace, cut and adhere.  Adhere photo to burgundy mat, tucking corners under the frame.

On 12 x 12" mint green WorldWin cardstock stamp border from Hollyhock set in Versamark ink across bottom of page then add more Shabby Green Embossing Enamel and heat.  Tie 2 long pieces of thin sheer lavender ribbon into a bow then tuck ends behind background cardstock and tape ends to back.  Position photo frame assembly and adhere using a strong adhesive such as My Stik from 3L Scrapbook Adhesives.

Add Chiffon Color Fragments to centers of flowers with a wet fine tipped adhesive.  Let dry.  Layer three of the flower stems into a bouquet and adhere to lower left of page, slightly overlapping the frame.  Use Crafty Foam Tape to add dimension to the flowers.  Add last flower stem to right side of frame with Crafty Foam tape.  Cut out die cut letters for title.  I used an old Cuttlebug font.

Stampendous! Products I used:

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you're having a great weekend!

Challenge List:
The Pink elephant: 3 or more layers
Crazy 4 Challenges: Spring is in the Air

Shaping Up with Stampendous!

Its Saturday morning and time for another week of this month's Shaped Card challenge at Stampendous!  Today I chose to use a Frame diecut as my shaped card base.  I used Nesting Frames 3 from QuicKutz for Lifestyle Crafts as my base, scoring and folding my cardstock square in half before running it through the Epic machine.  You want to make sure you position your die so that just a touch of the frame on the outside of the folded edge before cutting.

My focal image is Lion Baby, colored with copic markers to coordinate with new Little Darlings collection from Graphic 45.  My color choices are based on this weeks Split Coast Stampers color challenge #365 "A Very Wild Bride".  I cut my lion and his little teddy out with Nesting Circle dies from QuicKutz along with a mat of green polka dot paper in a slightly larger size circle.  I LOVE this set of Nesting dies because you get 21 dies for only $25 so all the circles are just 1/8" off from each other!  LOTS of choices!

Here's my little lion up close.  Isn't he just precious?  Perfect for any type of baby card!  For my sentiment I chose Bebe, also from Stampendous!  It was stamped in Versamark ink and embossing in Aged Taupe Embossing Enamel.

I chose the Lion baby stamp as my focal image because I am making a series of baby animal cards for my friend Betty at The Stamping and Scrapbooking Room.  She has all the baby animals in stock if you are local or want to email her an order.  Also if you aren't familiar with Shop-a-tron, you can place an order on the Stampendous! website and it will be sent to you from a local store!  PLUS with any $50 order this month in honor of National Craft Month on the Stampendous! site you will get  FREE Jumbo Cling Thank You set!

Now...go get busy creating and join us this month!  We want YOU to play along with us!  Just add your direct link to your shaped card or project to the linky tool below my signature (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than April 5, 2012 at 11:00 PM EST.  You do not have to use Stampendous products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!  And as an extra incentive for playing, one lucky person (drawn at random from all the entries) will receive this gorgeous Cling Jumbo Hollyhock Stamp Set:

Here's all the DT playing this week, so don't forget to go spread some love!
