STMC17

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go! Seriously! LOTS of Christmas in July challenges this month. Is it that we are all trying to get ahead on our Christmas cards? Or is it wishful thinking that this dad-blasted HEAT will go away?!!

SO, one more last Christmas in July for this last day of the month. Its time for the Saturday Stampendous sketch challenge. Head over to the Stampendous! blog to check out the details on how you can win some goodies! We decided to go with a simple Christmas theme instead this week.

As I said a few days ago I just got a HUGE box of Stampendous! goodies in the mail this week. LOTS of Christmas, including this adorable little set called "Polar Path". I whipped up this card at work the other day so I could leave it as a sample at Enchanted Cottage. I stamped the bears on Neenah Classic white, masked them then airbrushed the whole thing to keep the bears white :)

I am at the cottage today, anybody coming to see me?? Hope you all have a great Saturday and stay cool!

Hop, Hop...Blog Hop time!!

Its the last Friday of the month which means its Blog Hop time with InStyle Stamps! You don't want to miss all the fabbo eye candy this round...we are having a Christmas in July theme hop, featuring all the new Holiday releases from this month!

If you arrived here from Kerry's blog then you are right on track! If you didn't start at the beginning, head back to the InStyle Stamps blog to find out where to go first!Be sure to leave all our fabulously talented DT some love along the way :)

For my page I used the adorably sweet Roddrick. Isn't he the most delightful little reindeer? He was fun to color...with copics of course! I picked my colors to match this fun Crate Paper pp called "North Pole".
He started as a card but then at the last minute I turned him into part of a layout. Its pretty basic, but its cuter in person! You can see better on the closeup below where I layered the Sakura Glaze pen on the lights on Roddrick. There is also Silver glitter on his bells :)

(You can also click on the image of the full page above to get a better view at parts of it :)

Thanks for joining us his month! From here head over to the incredible Jan's blog to see what she whipped up for you :)

Spring Flower

Hey all! Sharing a card tonight I made a few days ago with an image that I won from Spesch Designer Stamps! Spesch sponsored Oh, Alice! a couple of weeks back when I won the challenge that week and I got a gift certificate! I picked out a bunch of really cute images by Star. This is the first one I colored.

She is so stinking adorable and I love the way she turned out colored to go with some funky Sassafras Lass paper in my stash. Also cut a couple of Butterflies and airbrushed them to match :) Here's the closeup of her.

That's it tonight! Check in tomorrow for the InSTyle Stamps July Blog Hop! Thanks for popping by!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

No doubt! I have a HUGE box of goodies that just arrived from Stampendous! Mostly Christmas, so I am feeling very inspired and in the spirit! Thanks Laura!! Hope you had a great vacay, ready for the next catalog girl?? I am totally psyched to dig in on my goodies, but in the meantime I am giving you a touch of festive eye candy.

This is the Mouse King (from The Nutcracker). He is part of Pixie Dust Studio's Nutcracker release from a couple of weeks back. Is he not the cutest little thing?!! I wanted a soft color theme for him so I chose this paper from Basic Grey to base my copic choices on. (Pictured at end of post)

Here's a closeup of the King so you can see his face and the shimmer of his crown. I added Silver Smooch to it and his buttons. A bit more subtle bling... The center panel was cuttlebugged with "Ornaments" folder then I sprayed it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch spray. (And yes, I cut out his whiskers!!)

OK, gotta go! I am off to finally watch The Lightening Thief with Michael and Taylor!

Meet Randolf

Here is sweet little Randolf. I created this card a couple of weeks back for our sneak peeks of all the new Holiday images at InStyle Stamps. Randolf is colored with copics to match this paper from K & Co. that I found in my stash.

Here's a closeup of Randolf. I have the copics that I used pictured below. Be sure to check back in this Friday for the InStyle Stamps blog hop.

The image is "Mr Music" from Pixie Dust Studio. He reminds me so much of my little guy, always walking around with an ipod in his pocket! Kathy never fails me with the cutest images!

I am signing off to catch up on my google reader then clean my studio then maybe I get to create!! Have a great one and thanks for hopping by!

STMC16 Sneak Peek: Cookie Memories

Its Saturday and time for the Stampendous! Super Saturday Sketch Challenge! It was my turn to host again so I drew up this weeks sketch. I tried to keep it pretty simple but you can embellish to your heart’s delight!

In fact we would love for you to play along with us! Head over to the Stampendus! Blog to get the rest of the details and to leave a link to your creation J There are always 2 giveawyas…one random and one picked by the Art department based on your use of Stampendous! products.

Dancing Under the Sea...

This is Princess Ariel from Pixie Dust Studio. I thought she would be perfect for the "Dancing Under the Sea" challenge at Oh, Alice! this week. (Oh, and I won @ Oh, Alice! last week BTW!! Cool!) This card is also for this weeks "Cutie Patootie" challenge at Papertake Weekly.

I made Ariel into an easel card cause I had never made one and they seem to be everywhere right now! I also added a seashell from a Lizzie Anne Designs set along with the sentiment for the card.

Here is the side view so you can see the easel mechanics a little bit better. And below is a closeup of her pretty tail. I added lots of bling to it...3 colors of stickles :) The colors of Ariel I chose by picking some papers from Memory Box paper pak.

And here is her face. I gave her green hair to match her tail cause Ariel red was just soooo off. She's sporting a few pearl in her hair. The bubble were punched with a 1/2 inch circle punch and then I aded a bit of white highlight thats hard to see in the photos.

OK, finally, her supplies and copics are listed/pictured below. Hope you have a great day...we are having a couple of family days, but don' worry...I actually have posts scheduled for you!

If the Shoe fits...

A little more witchy cuteness for you. You all do realize that this is my fav-or-ite holiday coming up!! Prepare to be haunted with these colors for a while!

This is “Witch shoes”, my absolute favorite image from the Hallowwen and Christmas release at InStyle Stamps last week. I love the shoes…dude! I want some! This was a really fun image to color, as were all the others by this artist who addd that cute little scalloped border….there are at least 3 that I know of in this release.

For this image, I used the remains of an old K & Co pattern paper pad to draw my colors from and to use as background pieces. The circles were all cut either with my circle Nestabilites or circle punches. The layout is loosely based on a sketch a number of weeks ago at the Pink elephant Challenge blog. I think it turned out wickedly cute!

-Cyndi

  • Stamps: Witchy shoes digi (InStyle Stamps); If the Shoe…(Northwoods)
  • Paper: K & co pp; White cs (Neenah); Double dot cs (Bo Bunny)

Pixie Dust Challenge #31

Ola! It a hot one here in NC again. The rain was so nice last week. Sigh. Trying to stay cool in Starbucks with my youngest DD. Shes reading and I am blogging.

Here is my card for this weeks Pixie Dust Challenge. Its a color challenge to use Cranberry and Forest Green. Not my usual bright I know, but I do love these scraps of Bo Bunny paper I had in my stash. They seemed fitting for my "Sugarplum Fairy", one of the newest digis in the Nutcracker collection from Pixie Dust Studio. They are all so sweet!

She is colored on Neenah solar Crest white with copic markers and then cut out. I added Snickerdoodle Smooch to her crown and Moonlight White to her skirt. Here's a closeup shot of her.

I tried a new approach on her hair...this is how Angela showed us in a tutorial this week. Check it out at the InStyle Stamps blog. I'm not totally happy with it, but this was only my first try.

OK, I gotta call it short today and spend a bit of time with my DD. We have some errands (which will turn into shopping of course!) to take care of. Have a great rest of the week...thanks for popping by!

Dude

Dude! Its Monday night and I am exhausted after this weekend at Enchanted Cottage. I feel copic-ed out. Is that possible? I repeated my demo like 200 times it felt like. A big "heya" to all who came by...including new friends who lurk!

So this is Hang 10 Kody from Some Odd Girl...is he HAWT or what? I had a blast coloring this little hottie. He is my new love. You all can have Edward and Jacob....ha! Just kidding! Just a bit punchy over here :)

OK, seriously I made Kody for this weeks "Stash Challenge #5" over at the Some Odd Girl Challenge blog. The challenge was to use spots, stripes, and REALLY BIG letters. Dude. No problem. Ive still got chipboard letters coming out the yin-yang.

I think Kody turned out seriously cute! I paired him with new Bo Bunny papers (love the colors) and some CTMH chipboard letters that I inked with a LIme versacolor cube, then outlined with my black Memory MArker.

Here's a closeup of his face. Love his funky cute eyes! The anime images are really growing on me more and more. And you all know that I LOVE digi images so I can print them in whatever size I want! Be sure to head over to Some Odd Girl to see all the rest of Kristy's wickedly cute designs!!

Thanks for stopping by to see me tonight! Hope to be back on top of the stamping and blogging after this last weekend :)

Birthday Blog Hop!!

Hey, hey! Its a very SPECIAL blog hop today! Today is Virginia's birthday! (Hey V!!) SO, the gals at InSTyle Stamps have thrown together a bit of a very special hop for her!

Its a Scavenger Hunt to begin with...we aren't telling you who you are heading to next....how fun is that?! AND you have to figure out what those letters on our tags spell out! Be sure to read this post all the way through to find ut more extra special details!

This is my tag for Virgina. I used "Vanessa", she was one of the very first Anime images from InStyle that I fell in love with. I used some extra special paper from my stash....this is part of the remains of my favorite Junkitz line (they are sadly no longer in business). I have all the rest of the ingredients listed at the very bottom of this post :)

I made Vanessa into a woman of color. OK, I know her skin is not perfect, but I am trying! The hardest part was the eyes. We are supposed to leave a bit of white around the eyes for Anime and those brown copics just sucked it all away so I had to go back with my Signo uniball pen. Not too shabby, but don't look too close, LOL

If Virgina were spending the day with me here in NC...hmmm, well today is easy! I would take her to work with me at Enchanted Cottage. We are geared up for the Stamp & Scrap Art Convention in town with lots of demos (I am demoing copics aaaaaaall day long again), make-n-takes, trunk shows, and more.

If it were just any day we would of course start at Starbucks for coffee, then maybe hit all the scrapping and stamping stores, there are TONS within a 2 hour range. Concord Mills is just down the road, and there are 2 other great big malls nearby too. I do believe Virginia loves to shop. I first met her at CHA last year shopping! She is a total sweetheart and I hope to see her in person again soon!!

Since this is a Birthday Blog Hop, we can't leave you without a chance at a party prize! So here are the rules.
1. Start at the beginning of the blog hop with the letter
H.
2. Comment on each Design Team's blog because they need a little love and increase your chances at the party prize.
3. Go to PaperYumness and wish Virginia a Happy Birthday.

The deadline to win a digital image is Sunday, July 18th at 8:00pm Pacific Time.

That's all you need to do! The prize???? Not one, but two! You might win either one by commenting on a blog. Good luck and hope you have fun all along the way!

OK, from here you are hopping to ----> P

Have fun! Thanks for hopping by!

Snowman & Son

I am back with another preview for you from InStyle Stamps! Today we are showcasing lots of winter images, so be sure to head to the ISS blog for more peeks! I have "Snowman and Son" for you today, though I kinda made them snowwoman and daughter. I had scraps of this yummy My Minds Eye paper that I wanted to use, and what man is going to wear a pink scarf? Hehe

This image, along with a few others we are peeking this week are actually designed to be tags. Notice the hole at the top? That was drawn into the image. (The beauty of digi images is that you could remove that in Photoshop if desired!) My favorite part of this series is the adorable scallops! So fun to pick colors for. I kept to just aqua for these, but I mixed colors on my other 2 samples (1 was witchy shoes from Monday, the other you will see next week :) )

Anyway, I kept the card rather simple, just straight forward layers. Below are the copics I used and the supplies listed. All images peeked this week will be available in the InStyle Stamps web tore tomorrow! Be sure to join us for a bit of a chat tomorrow night in our Papercraft Planet forum!

Have a great day, see you tomorrow!

I love being witchy, how about you? No, seriously. Just ask my kids. Although they might have a slightly different name for me. (No comments Perry) This is my card for todays preview of "Witchy Cat", a new digi image from InSTyle Stamps available this Friday!

I am a total cat freak and Halloween is of course my favorite holiday, so this is the first image I colored this month. She is paired with last years Halloween line from Basic Grey, "Eerie". I also used the Breaking all the rules sketch from the Oh, Alice challenge blog for inspiration. Below is a closeup of the bow/button.

Some Odd Girl cards

I had a lot of stamping time to my self on Saturday and thought I would hop over to Some Odd Girl's Digi Day at SNR card Universe. I haven't been to a release party with challenges and such in quite a while and it sounded fun! Well, one card in I realized my free time was at and end. Go figure.

I did finally complete 2 cards for the 6 challenges, just didn't get them in on time. But oh well, they turned out totally stinkin' cute! I stumbled onto Some Odd Girl through Robin's blog last week. I just love these outlandishly adorable and funky images!

Here is a closeup of Bed Time Mae. She was a freebie last week...gotta love freebies, but you gotta get them while they last! This card was for the sketch challenge. I had a lot of fun making this card, but perhaps too much seeing as how it took so long!

  • Supplies for Mae:
  • Stamps: Bed Time Mae digi (Some Odd Girl); Friends for Life (Unity)
  • Paper: Enchantment pp (Memory Box); white cs (Neenah)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
  • Accessories: Copic markers & ABS1 (Imagination International); Polka dot Frame & Labels 1 Nestibilities (Spellbinders); ribbon (A Muse); whte gel pen (Sakura); Snow Cone blue flock (Stampendous)

This is Tiny Tia, also from Some Odd Girl (freebie for July I think). I used her to create my card for Robin's color challenge. Her challenge was to use Primary colors...Red, Yellow, and Blue...BUT she said we could use any version of them. SO, I picked up this fun paper in my stash by October Afternoon with slightly muted reds and yellows and slightly aqua-ish blue. Close enough!

I also used this weeks sketch at Papercraft Planet for the layout of the card. I flipped it just a wee bit.

I think the card turned out really cute! Way more subtle than my usual but I did brighten it a bit :) I did sew all the layers on this baby. Finally got the tension back working right on my machine. For a better view of Tiny Tia just click on the photo.

  • Supplies for Tia:
  • Stamps: Tiny Tia digi (Some Odd girl)
  • Paper: Fly a Kite pp (October Afternoon); Bazzill cs, Neenah Solar white
  • Accessories: Copic markers; sewing machine; die cut stckers (October Afternoon); ribbon (SU!); circle punch (SU!); whte gel pen (SAkura); buttons (BAsic Grey)
OK, so enough babbling today. See my previous post for the goings on at InStyle this week! As always, I truly appreciate each of you who pops by my blog! I will be seeing my Hickory friends tonight at Anna's!!

-Cyndi

Stampendous! Sketch Challenge!!

Can I tell you how happy I am that I don't actually HAVE to participate in the Stampendous! sketch on time, that it just a bonus fun thing for me to do...since I can't EVER seem to actually get it posted on Saturday! (Also seems that Stampendous! isn't getting theirs up on Saturday either , LOL so I guess its really no biggie!)

BUT, I do love challenges. And this gets me playing with my Stampendous! stamps every week even when there are no Design Team obligations, because, lets face it. I love all the images that Fran creates, from this lovely Peacock to every Fluffles!

For this card I used "Proud Peacock", a clear set that includes the gorgeous peacock and extras feathers and sentiments. I paired it of course with the new Peacock paper line from Bo Bunny!

Our sketch this week was drawn by the oh so talented Pam. She also challenged us to create a window card. You can see the sketch and her creation not only at Pam's blog, but also at the Stampendous! blog.

This is the open version of my card so you can see the window a bit better. I just LOVE the way it turned out! Below you can see the inside of the card, the full peacock in all his splendor. I used lots of Stampendous! glitter on the feathers, but even with the closeup its kinda hard to see unless you click on the pic to zoom in.

Please also be sure to go join our Papercraft Planet group (where the challenge is also posted each week). If you play along with us this week be sure to send a link over to the challenge post, you could win FREE stamps!

Thanks for visiting with me today! Have a great rest of the weekend.

InStyle Stamps Color Challenge

Today is the day for the InStyle Stamps Color Challenge! This month we had an Inspiration piece with "Christmas" colors. If you know my style, you will know that these colors do NOTHING for me, LOL.

So, of course I struggled with the card for this challenge. I really like the Nutcracker "Tom" image, but I really DO NOT like my card! Oh,well. I tried to pull out the yellow and not as much of the pink but it just didn't work out. Be sure to head over to the InStyle Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with.

ALSO, we will be having a whole week of previews next week for all new holiday images!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Oh Alice!

I have an Alice card for you today thats an entry for multiple challenges. It started as the card for The Pink Elephant Challenge blog...a recipe challenge this week...to use 3 layers, 2 die cuts, and ribbon.

I used papers from the new Basic Grey "Olivia" line...the colors are so unique together...more pink, navy and green, but also this pattern appears red, white , and blue ...thus also qualifying for the Oh, Alice! challenge this week.

Here is a closeup of Alice and her teacup that was colored with a Navy glaze pen to make it shiny. (Her lips and all hearts were colored with the red glaze pen). The sentiment is a digi download from Sassy Studio Designs. Alice is from Pixie Dust Studio, also a digi download.

My card layout came from this weeks sketch at the Mojo Monday blog. Fun sketch to work with!! OK, the rest of the supplies are below. Thanks for stopping in! Have a great Tuesday :)
